Symphoria Performs for LCSD Third-Graders
Friday, October 20, 2017
The sounds of good and evil recently filled the Liverpool High School Auditorium as Liverpool Central School District third-graders had the chance to attend a special Symphoria concert at the school.
The musician-led cooperative orchestra performed music from some of the students’ favorite superhero movies and television shows, while also introducing the third-graders to instrument families through narration, demonstration and humor.
Programs in the Arts for Children (PAC) sponsored Symphoria’s performance. Made up of parent volunteers, PAC provides a full season of fine arts programming for LCSD elementary students. It also holds the annual Adventures in the Arts celebration that showcases elementary art and music.
Symphoria is one of only two musician-led cooperative orchestras in the United States. It is composed of a diverse group of talented musicians from around the world. For more about Symphoria, visit experiencesymphoria.org.
